Tabloidal

My family has always been partial to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, but recently I began buying tabloids instead (either Bandera, which is the Inquirer's tabloid, or Pilipino Star Ngayon), mainly because they're half the price of broadsheets, but also for the following secondary reasons:
  • They're much easier to handle than broadsheets. Great for reading the news on the train, or while stuck in traffic in a standing-room city bus.
  • Smaller news section, so the editors only put in the most important news and leave out the insignificant.
  • Broadsheets are the province of the middle class, but the tabloid is the working man's news source. It's what the Philippines is really thinking.
